Homann, Johannes Baptiste. Two 18th celestial maps of the moon and

the constellations

Uncommon and decorative double hemisphere map of the surface of the

moon. The dark side has an imaginary topography, using place names of

the Mediterranean world. Homan was an engraver and map seller,

geographer to the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, and a member of

the Prussian Royal Academy of Science 19½ x 23in. (49.53 x 58.42cm)
