1849 (21 March) Handbill notice of the execution of 'James Commins'
at Roscommon for the murder of Major Mahon
A dated handbill announcing the execution of James Cummins and
reproducing his final declaration with list of witnesses to the execution.
Also with Irish Race Convention 1896 agenda pamphlet, 8pp, printed by
Sealy, Bryers & Walker Dublin and 1845 'O'Connell Tribute' handbill
produced by the Office of the O'Connell Tribute, Upper Sackville Street.

1860: Knockmahon Mine strike Waterford presentation tankard
hallmarked silver, Sheffield 1860.
A unique silver drinking tankard relating to the strike and lockout of
1860 at the Knockmahon Mine on the Copper Coast in County
Waterford. With a beautiful and decorative inscription "Presented to
Charles H. Bingham Esq.,.... as a mark of their respect and esteem for his
great ability, decision of character and gentlemanly deportment in
meeting every difficulty during the trying circumstances of the late
strike amongst the miners at Knockmahon Sept. 1st 1860". An
interesting piece of social, mining, industrial relations, Waterford and
Irish history. 4.50 x 3.25in. (11.43 x 8.26cm)

A section of telegraph cable with contemporary manuscript note stating
"1st cable to America carried by the 'Great Eastern' steam ship 1865'. An
unusual piece of communication history from Isambard Kingdom
Brunel's ship the SS Great Eastern captained by Sir James Anderson.

Two letters sent from Dublin Castle to the Magistrates at Lucan and
Newcastle Petty Sessions stating that female prisoners should be sent to
Grangegorman prison due to "the occupation of Kilmainham Gaol by
prisoners charged with or suspected of treasonable practices" An
interesting piece of legal ephemera directly relating to attempts to
