1917: Sinn Féin East Clare by-election “Up De Valera” badge
Scarce colour paper badge in the form of a shamrock, with a photograph
of candidate Eamon de Valera in Irish Volunteers uniform above the
words “Up De Valera”. Despite being imprisoned during the election he
was successful in winning a seat. 3 x 3in. (7.62 x 7.62cm)
