1939-45: Nazi Party sauce boat from Platterhof Hotel
Silver plate. An interesting piece acquired by a member of the 101st
Airborne from the Platterhof Hotel in Obersalzberg, which was run by

Soviet naval dress dagger with double edged polished 8 1/4 inch blade,
gilt brass mounted hilt, ricasso stamped with date, pommel marked with
Soviet emblem, complete with gilt metal mounted scabbard. Also with
Chinese award document from the People’s Liberation Army and Chinese
portrait silks of Lenin, Stalin and Mao Zedong. (5 items)

1947 (29 April) Albert Einstein signed letter to Ireland
Typescript and manuscript. An extremely scarce and desirable letter in
English signed by Albert Einstein, the German-born Theoretical Physicist
and Nobel Prize winner on “Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists”
headed paper. Sent to an Irish recipient and enclosing a copy of
Explaining the Atom by Selig Hecht which Einstein refers to as “an
authoriative account of the scientific steps, both theoretical and
experimental, that have led to our present knowledge of nuclear
fission.... from this book the discerning reader can gain the information
necessary to form an independent opinion on the practical problems of
atomic energy confronting the world today” Also with the edition of
Explaining the Atom referred to in the letter. (2 items) 11 x 8.50in.
