Theodoret of Cyrus, c. 393-c. 460, an important writer in the domains
of exegesis, dogmatic theology, church history and ascetic theology. His
Christological opinions have been a matter of controversy, but it is now
conceded that he held Nestorian views but abandoned them circa 451.
His historical works are important for the many authentic documents
used in them.
