12mo, contemporary calf, gilt bordered sides, gilt ruled spine,
with the signed armorial bookplate of Thomas Greene, and also
signed by him on the title-page: a nice, unpressed copy.
ESTC locates only seven copies (L, C, O, Manchester; AAS, Harvard &
Morgan). To accommodate Unitarian criticisms Watts continued to
rework his doctrine of the Trinity in this second group of essays. In the
18-page preface he admits that his sentiments have changed concerning
certain beliefs which he once held and which some of his earlier works
expressed.
