The title-page printed in red and black within a deep and
attractive engraved architectural border, pages (54), (2, blank),
969, (41), 4to, contemporary vellum: the binding worn and
stained, the inside front hinge cracked though the stitching
strong and otherwise a very good copy with the attractive
engraved title-page well-margined and not cut close or trimmed.

label, gilt: with the occasional very faint marginal pencil mark: a
large and very good copy.
Berington (1746- 827) first published this in 1777, and here the first part
of the text seems to have been completely re-set, with a much longer
introduction. The second part - The Letters of Abeillard and Heloisa
has separate half-title and title-page.

based, chemist and inventor. This, his first book, cogently argued the
case for his own product over Berkeley’s.
