calf over wooden boards, wanting clasps, old, (?)near

Adams E. 66 (TH only): NUC adds three. BLC has only the editions of
1571 and 1572: there was a further one in 1582. A major work by this
prolific German author (1524-86), remembered for arranging the
Catechism for the use of schools.

radicalism’, an anti-revolutionary blast set in Germany.

The only printing of by far the best anthology of contemporary verse.
The volume number is stated only on the half-titles. A third and
concluding volume was published in 1801. Includes contributions by
Swift, Goldsmith, Burke, Anne Letitia Barbould, C. J. Fox, William
Hayley, John Wolcot and R. B. Sheridan.
