that his genius in both areas had been overrated. Matters certainly were
not helped by his ‘distemper of … mind’. Hence it is debatable whether
he was more an asset or a hindrance to the hard-pressed rebel cause
(ODNB).

gilt: with a small old stamp on the title-page and a little wear at
the headbands but the binding strong and attractive: a pleasing
copy.
Henrey 955. When first published in 1760 this book was the first
description to appear in English of the sexual system of Linnaeus, with
whom Lee corrresponded. Lee introduced the fuschia into England..

author’s name and attributes, stitching sound and strong,
otherwise a clean, very good, well margined and unsophiscated
copy.
Apparently the only edition. Not found in NUC. COPAC has NLS

An improved issue of Thirlby’s respected edition of this finely conceived
desctiption of the responsibilities of the Christian minister by the
fourth century Doctor of the Church, the greatest of Christian
expositors, remembered for his preaching, his exegesis and his liturgical
reforms.

Bentivoglio (1579-1644), Italian cardinal, statesman and historian of
the Flanders War. Though a disciple of Galileo, he was one of the
Inquisitors-General who signed his condemnation. Earlier editions
have the title: Della guerra di Fiandra.
