EUSEBIUS (Pamphilius).
The auncient ecclesiastical
histories of the first six hundred yeares after Christ, written in
the Greeke tongue by three learned historiographers, Eusebius,
Socrates, and Euagrius. Eusebius Pamphilus Bishop of
Caesarea in Palaestina wrote 10 bookes. Socrates Scholasticus
of Constantinople wrote 7 bookes. Euagrius Scholasticus of
Antioch wrote 6 bookes. Whereunto is annexed Dorotheus
Bishop of Tyrus, of the lives of the prophetes, apostles and 70
disciples…………………. with a copious index of the principall
matters throughout all the Histories.

With a large oval woodcut device on the general title-page and a
slightly smaller version of the same device on each of the four
sub-titles, pages (12), 192, 203 - 598, (18), complete thus, though
without the blank leaves at beginning and end, folio,
contemporary calf, gilt ruled unlettered spine, the binding
rubbed and worn but still strong and otherwise a well-margined,
very good copy with a neat ownership inscription at head of
title dated 1628.
