some coloured, some photo-gravures, some mounted as
drawings, leaves (2), 43, printed on one side of the leaf only,
large 4to, original blue cloth, gilt, edges gilt: a very good to nice
copy.
Privately published, presumably printed in a very limited number: this
copy has, tipped in, a memorial note signed by the Marquess and the
Marchioness. A memorial volume for Archie Gordon (1884-1909), who
died following an auto-mobile accident. Contributions by Robert Louis
Stevenson, Herbert Asquith and others are included. His father, John
Campbell Hamilton Gordon (1847-1934), viceroy of Ireland (1886,
1905-15), governor of Canada (1893-98), married Ishbel-Maria
Marjoribanks (1857-1939), daughter of the Lord Tweedmouth, in
1877.
