238 Daniel Lipstein (b.1959) DREAM COMPOSITION 10 etching; (no. 1 from an edition of 10) signed lower right; titled lower centre; numbered lower left 21.75 by 29.50in. (55.2 by 74.9cm) Lipstein works primarily as a print maker and painter. He graduated with a Masters of Fine Art from NCAD in 2009. He has received several prestigious awards such as the first prize at the multidisciplinary print making exhibition at Galway Arts Centre, Impressions, 2010. As a print-maker Daniel creates mainly multi-plates etching and aquatint works of small, medium and large scale. His compositions are a mixture of realistic observations and imagination. “These works could probably be arranged in three categories. Childhood compositions, the hereafter paintings and the interpretations of visions of Norway. They express a spiritual journey from childhood to a certain state of inward freedom”, Lipstein has said of his work for the CAP Foundation Award which he received in 2006. He exhibits regularly with the Graphic Studio, Dublin and his work can be found in the collections of the OPW, NCAD and the National Botanic Gardens among others. €100-€150 (£90-£130 approx.)
