(35.6 by 30.5cm) Exhibited: John O’Grady, The Life andWork of Sarah Purser, Four Courts Press, Dublin, 1996, listed as catalogue no. 65, p.179 (recorded as ‘not located’) Literature: RHA, Dublin, 1882, no. 283 Sarah Purser began exhibiting at the RHA, Dublin in 1872 and her last submission there was in 1928 (a posthumous exhibition was held in 1944). From 1872 to 1882 inclusive her address is recorded as 19 Wel- lington Road, Dublin. She later moved to 2 Leinster Street (1883-1886) and then to 11 Harcourt Terrace (1887-1909) until settling finally at Mespil House, later demolished in the 1950s. €3,000-€5,000 (£2,630-£4,390 approx.)
