(29.8 by 24.1cm) Provenance: Collection of George and Maura McClelland Born in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, Violet McAdoo studied at the Belfast College of Art and the RCA, London, whence she graduated in 1927. She returned to Northern Ireland and supported herself through teaching as well as exhibiting with the RHA, WCSI, the Living Artists exhibitions, and the Ulster Academy of which she was at one time vice- president. Examples of her work hang in the Royal Ulster Academy and the Ulster Museum, Belfast.
