This example was gifted to the present owner and it is currently ‘sold out’ on the artist’s website. Tomas Young joined the US Army shortly after 9/11 and was deployed to Iraq where he was shot and paralyzed just five days into his tour of duty. He spent ten years battling his injuries and speaking out against war and injustice before his death on the eve of Veterans’ Day, 2014. In 2017 Eddie Vedder and Mark Wilkerson (co-author of Pearl Jam Twenty and author of ‘Tomas Young’s War’) established the Tomas Young Scholarship through the College Success Foundation funded by Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy Foundation.
