List of artists and artworks and their Schools Print number included in this lot: Fairground by Barbara Jones (S.P. 2) Timber Felling by Michael Rothenstein (S.P. 5) Fireside by Thomas Carr (S.P. 8) The Elephant Act by Russell Reeve (S.P. 17) Holiday by John Tunnard (S.P. 18) The present collection of lithographs were printed in England by the Baynard Press, London for a project called the Rawnsley’s School Prints; an initiative aimed at bringing Contemporary Art to a wider audience particularly children. All the prints were produced to the same size with the idea being that they would all fit into standard frames and would be interchangeable. Some of the other well-known names included in the Schools Print series included: L.S. Lowry, Fernand Léger, Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Henry Moore.
