Gray, commander of Pan-Am Clipper III flying boat, and five others, following the landing of their first transatlantic proving flight. Capt. Harold Gray commanded the first trans-Atlantic flight by a Pan American Sikorsky S42B Clipper III passenger seaplane from Botwood, Newfoundland to Foynes, Ireland.
