(34.3 by 25.4cm) Provenance: Collection of Dr Robelet, Neuil sur Layon; His sale, Thierry & Lannon, Brest, 14 October 2009, lot 358; Dickon Hall Fine Art, Belfast; Whence purchased by the present owner Exhibited: ‘Roderic O’Conor, Prints and Drawings’, Dickon Hall Fine Art, Belfast, 2010 Two typical O’Conor drawings, each of a female resting in an interior and drawn with O’Conor’s usual sense of immediacy and directness. These drawings were part of a larger group which came into the posession of Madame Bellard, an elderly Nueil-sur-Layon resident who was employed by O’Conor’s widow as a “femme de menage.”They were acquired by the local physician, Dr. Robelet and subsequently sold in Brest in 2009.
