43 Harry Kernoff RHA (1900-1974) FROM A PLANE, BOSTON TO SHANNON [9 HOURS] 1957 pencil and watercolour signed lower right; titled on reverse 11.50 by 14in. (29.2 by 35.6cm) This drawing relates to Harry Kernoff’s return to Ireland after a visit to Nova Scotia. A chance encounter with a Nova Scotian by the name of Albro Ettinger in the Bailey pub in early 1957, resulted in Ettinger inviting him for an all expenses paid trip to the Canadian maritime province. Kernoff produced an interesting body of work while there, some of which he sold in Nova Scotia and the rest were exhibited on his return at the Hendriks Gallery. €600-€800 (£530-£700 approx.)
