46 Seán Keating PPRHA HRA HRSA (1889-1977) DRAWING FOR ULYSSES IN CONNEMARA, c.1950 pencil signed with the initial ‘K.’ lower right; titled across base 6.50 by 6in. (16.5 by 15.2cm) The oil painting (48 by 48in.) corresponding to the present sketch was sold for over ten times its estimate [£400,000] in March 2007. The oil was executed in 1947 and exhibited at the RHA, Dublin in 1950 (no. 156, £200.0.0) and at the Royal Scottish Academy.
