(45.7 by 55.9cm) Provenance: Collection of the Paramount Theatre, Seattle, Washington; Their sale, c.1960; Whence purchased by the previous owner; ’Interiors of the Paramount Theatre, Seattle’, Mroczek Brothers Auctioneers & Associates, Seattle, 18 August 2018, lot 627; Private collection The present painting was part of the furnishings of the historic Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Washington built in 1928 at the start of the Talkies and was a premier venue on the West Coast of America. In the 1960s it underwent a refurbishment when the present work is believed to have been acquired. It was offered more recently for sale in the company of other paintings, sculpture and fine furniture from the same venue. €10,000-€ 15,000 (£8,850-£13,270 approx.)
