Down, Motor Racing, Ards TT, Motor magazine poster. The Motor magazine. A very rare weekly poster advertising The Motor magazine’s Tuesday 26 August (1930 or 1936) coverage of the annual Tourist Trophy race on the Ards Circuit, Co. Down; full-colour lithograph on paper. Framed. Held annually in August between 1928 and 1936, the Ards Tourist Trophy attracted entries from the World’s major car manufacturers. They even designed models specifically for the race, for instance the Aston Martin Ulster. The race was a gruelling test of endurance, lasting six hours over a near 14 mile course made up of closed roads, linking the towns of Dundonald, Newtownards and Comber.
