A glass rummer engraved with a figure of King William III on horseback beneath “THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF KINGWILLIAM”, the reverse “BOYNE 1ST JULY 1690”, on a knopped stem and circular foot; together with an Irish cut-glass piggin, a Georgian Irish Donovan-decorated dinner plate and a delft-ware side plate.(4). Franz Tieze (1842–1932) was a Dublin-based glass engraver, originally from Bohemia. Tieze had been recruited, with other Bohemian glass engravers, by the Pugh Brothers andWilliamWhyte to work in their glassworks. He was best known for his engravings of glass commemorating the Williamite Wars, the Irish Volunteers and the 1798 Rebellion.
