(19.7 by 24.8cm) Atsushi Kaga is a Japanese visual artist, working in mixed media, painting, drawing, animation and sculpture. He is best known for his practice steeped in popular culture. Born in 1978 in Tokyo, the artist received his BA in Fine Art Painting from the National College of Art and Design/NCAD in 2005. He had a solo show at the Butler Gallery in 2008, has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally and is represented in numerous private and public collections. Upcoming projects include Maho Kubota Gallery’s booth at Shanghai Art Fair in November 2019 and a solo presentation with mother’s tankstation ltd at Dangai art fair in Taipei in January 2020.
