Written in ink in Ashe’s hand on prison paper with censor marks, he asks why the parish priest, his employer, is expecting him back to resume as principal of Corduff School, and various instructions regarding his dogs, books and other matters. 3pp. Family of Thomas Ashe; Private collection. Written in the hand of Ashe in ink on prison stationery, it includes his first direct communication with his father since he was imprisoned.
