252 Banknotes 512 Currency Commission Consolidated Banknote ‘Ploughman’ - original artwork by Dermod O’Brien Design in ink by Dermod O’Brien for The Irish Agricultural Wholesale Society, submitted to the Currency Commission. A similar composition by O’Brien was chosen by the Commission for the famous series of ‘Ploughman’ notes. Attractively framed with a Bank of Ireland One Pound 5-12-35. Condition: Framed and glazed, appears to be in fine condition; the banknote is slightly toned at top, very fine. Dermod O’Brien President of the Royal Hibernian Academy and Hnorary Member of the Royal Academy. London RHA HRA (1865-1945), was a distinguished Irish painter, mainly of landscapes and portraits.
