Grafton Street Dublin. Condition: Very fine “G.A.A. 1895 Championship” engraved on obverse surrounded by shamrock and floral decoration. Reverse marked with maker’s name. The 1895 All-Ireland final was the eighth hurling decider at held Jones’ Road, Dublin, on 15 March, 1896. The start of a historic rivalry it was the first occasion that Kilkenny faced Tipperary in a final. Kilkenny was represented by club side Tullaroan while Tipperary was represented by Tubberadora. The match ended with victory for Tipperary, 6-8 to 1-10 while Kilkenny as runners-up received this silver medal.
