(86.4 by 76.2cm) Dimensions of Frame: 36.5 by 32in. (93 by 81cm) Condition: This work appears to be in very good condition. Some minor surface dirt visible. Provenance: Acquired at the artist’s studio by the present owners Born in Gorey, Co. Wexford, Armstrong studied at NCAD and was a founder member of the Temple Bar Gallery and Studios. His first solo show in Dublin was held at the Peacock Gallery in 1984; the same year he won the prestigious GPA Award for Emerging Artists. He has since exhibited extensively, particularly with the Riverrun Gallery and Hallward Gallery, Dublin. In 1997 he was included in the Critics Choice (Aidan Dunne) Banquet Show at the RHA, whilst in 1999 he was one of three Irish artists selected to exhibit at the Painting Centre in New York.
