(50.8 by 43.2cm) Provenance: Ross’s, Belfast, 12 June 2002, lot 118; McKee collection; Whyte’s, 6 December 2008, lot 29; Estate of the purchaser Born at Templemore, Co. Cork, the daughter of Col. Chester, Eileen Murray studied at Newlyn under Stanhope Forbes, whose influence can be seen in much of her work. After marrying Major F. S. J. Murray, she moved to India, returning to Ireland in 1920 to Mosstown House, Kenagh, Co. Longford.
