Chester, Eileen Murray studied at Newlyn under Stanhope Forbes, whose influence can be seen in much of her work. After marrying Major F. S. J. Murray, she moved to India, returning to Ireland in 1920 to Mosstown House, Kenagh, Co. Longford.
