(18.4 by 23.5cm) Frame Size: 14.5 by 16.5in. (36.8 by 41.9cm) Condition: This work appears to be in excellent condition. The year the present work was painted Souter had returned to Ireland via Agen in France and London. For a short ‘difficult’ period, she resided with her parents in Dún Laoghaire and then at several other addresses in Dublin. She gives birth to her second daughter, Michelle, in July of 1956 and on 15 December that year her first solo exhibition opens at El Habano Restaurant in Dublin’s Grafton Street. It is possible the present work was among the 36 works shown in that exhibition.
