Provenance: Acquired from the artist by author Richmond Samuel Howe Noble of Lisnatore, St Helen’s Bay, Belfast; Thence by family descent Richmond Samuel Howe Noble of Lisnatore, St Helen’s Bay, Belfast was a celebrated author of books on Shakespeare, in particular his use of song and his use of the Bible within his works. He purchased several paintings from the artist who moved in the same literary and artistic circles which included the likes of Percy Wyndham Lewis, Gerard Leslie Brockhurst and Oliver St. John Gogarty among others. €6,000-€8,000 (£5,330-£7,110 approx.)
