Provenance: Cross Gallery, Dublin, 2004; Private collection Siobhán McDonald lives and works in Dublin but was born in New York and reared in Co. Monaghan. She trained in Belfast, Amsterdam, and New York and has since exhibited extensively in Ireland, New York and Belfast. Her most recent Dublin exhibitions, entitled ‘Ash and Ether’ and ‘NewWorks’, were held in The Cross Gallery and Thisisnotashop, respectively. Her work can be found in a variety of important public and private collections including the Office of Public Works, the Ulster Museum and Bank of Ireland as well as internationally. Although not representative of McDonald’s current body of work, this Untitled oil from 2002 demonstrates threads of her now well developed reflections on time and its passing.
