This artwork was part of the response of several of the finest visual artists in Ireland to a selection of stories/essays in the anthology: From the Republic Conscience (Liberty Press, 2009). Vivienne Roche has responded to I Have Desired To Go, Jennifer Johnston’s interpretation of Article 15. Jennifer’s story, without any explicit references, subtly evokes the horror of the Holocaust. Vivienne was inspired by the words, “Sometimes I just sit with my eyes shut, not asleep, just staring at the insides of my eyelids.” €100-€150 (£90-£130 approx.)
