98 69 Micheal Farrell (1940-2000) STUDY FOR BANK OF IRELAND MURAL, c. 1966 mixed media on paper 26.75 by 33.25in. (67.9 by 84.5cm) Frame Dimensions: 28.2 by 35.2in. (71.6 by 89.4cm) Creasing visible on close inspection throughout. One slight tear along lower left edge. Some dirt visble between glass and the work. In 1966 Farrell developed a motif of intertwined circles, referencing old Celtic designs. He used these to most striking effect in the Bank of Ireland murals of 1966-7; this is a study for that series. €1,500-€2,000 (£1,290-£1,720 approx.)
