WHYTE'S THE ECLECTIC COLLECTOR 15/16 MAY 2021

228 Entertainment Memorabilia 579 The Beatles. A very rare acetate recording of Not Guilty by George Harrison 7 inch, one sided acetate unreleased track from The White Album, recorded on 8 August 1968. Condition: A few scratches, very good. Provenance: A former sound engineer at Abbey Road Studios; Collection of Mark Hayward Over 100 takes were made of this recording. The present track lasts 4 minutes 4 seconds, 30 seconds longer than The Anthology version. The Anthology 3 track 18 was take 102, lasting 3 minutes, 22 seconds. This is thought to be the longest unreleased Beatles song known to date. After three nights - 8, 9 and 12 August 1968 - recording the basic track - 99 takes in all - The Beatles freed space in a tape to tape reduction mixdown for George Harrison to overdub his vocal. Despite all the work put into the recording of this song it was omitted from The White Album, and not released until it appeared on the Anthology albums, using take 102 which was heavier in approach to the recording offered here.
