242 Silver & Other Collectibles 621 19th/early 20th century collection including vesta case, stamp holder, etc. (7) Silver envelope design stamp holder, three brass sovereign holders, gold plated small box, white metal vesta inscribed to “Andre Bachelet from the Boys No. 1 Room H & H Dublin, October 1908”, white metal coin holder for sovereign, half sovereign, shilling, sixpence and threepence. Condition: A few light scratches amd wear, mainly very good to fine. Beilby were makers of telescopes in from 1786 to 1820 in Sheffield and then London. This telescope dates from c.1795-1800. Note that the maker’s name runs away from the eyepiece as opposed to towards it, which is a feature of pre-1805 instruments. Dust slide on eyepiece, also dust cap at the other end. Mahogany sleeve has usual scuffs, but no splits or tears. 4 drawers. 10 inches closed, 28.5 inches open, objective lens 2 inches. Drawers in good condition and slide well. Condition: Mahogany sleeve has usual scuffs, but no splits or tears, optics not working and in need of restoration. A rare early 19th century creamware leech jar, of twin handled rib form, with pierced lid and rose moulded knob, inscribed LEECHES. Stamped 17 in blue on base. 7.50 by 7.50in. (19.1 by 19.1cm) Condition: 6 inch vertical crack from top to 1 inch above base, small chip in lid, a 5 by .5 inch chip from rim of base, otherwise very good.
