28 History 43 Circa 1830 magic lantern slide for Repeal and Daniel O’Connell. Hand painted glass showing O’Connell caricature with placard “8,000,000 Votes Repale [sic] The Union” and a policeman, the second image shows the placard smashed through the policeman’s head. Rare. Condition: Piece of glass missing at right but not affecting the two painted caricatures, good. Published by Newton, 3 Fleet Street, London (stamped into wood frame). The title was ‘Policeman In A Fix’.
