To J.E. Finot, Sergeant Major ‘de Voltigeurs au 57e.’ Rare. Condition: Narrow ribbon (for miniature possibly), very fine Medals awarded to French soldiers with the bearer’s name engraved are not often found. - JE Finot is a Sergeant-Major, holder of the highest non-commissioned officer rank of the Voltigeurs of the 57th Imperial Line Infantry Regiment. The Voltigeurs were the elite company of a regiment that were positioned as riflemen in front of the first line and marched ahead of it.
