Coronation, and George V London Fire Brigade Coronation, all to Fireman William Royall. Condition: Mostly very fine, Good Service worn, ribbon soiled, about fine. Leavy, of the Glider Pilot Regiment, killed in action. War Medal, 1939-1945 Star, and France and Germany Star, to Joseph Patrick Leavy, Manchester (Irish parents), who was killed in action in the Rhine campaign, 24 March 1945. With an extensive archive of photographs, military documents, telegrams reporting his death to his family, printed sympathy message from King George VI, etc. Also four prewar sports medals, etc. A very interesting collection detailing a brave young man’s wartime service. Provenance: Family of Joseph Patrick Leavy. Condition: War medals mint, with ribbons, notice etc., in posted box to his mother. Other items are mostly very good condition. Includes photographs of Joseph Patrick Leavy in uniform and in Battleford Canada during training in 1943, military passes, travel permits, etc., photographic postcards of various aircraft (20), list of killed and missing members of B Squadron of the the Glider Pilot Regiment, other photos (20). some by F.O. Leavy, include his colleagues at training course in Canada, interiors and exteriors of aircraft etc., 1943 graduation and Christmas dinner signed menus, 1943 airgraph from his family, photos of his war grave and correspondence concerning it, cloth badges and a tie, and much more.
