(38.1 by 30.5cm) Condition: Some oxidisation to the kukris, medals very fine, attractively mounted on wood. An 18th century James Barbar flintlock blunderbuss with 36cm brass barrel signed London and lock signed Barbar, 75cm. Barrel bears crown GP a gun makers proof Mark and Crown V mark of the London proof house. Accompanied by a leather gun box with brass plaque ‘J. Oldfield, Northallerton.’ Condition: Overall looks to be in good condition but for fair wear and tear from age. James Barbar was apprenticed to his father Lewis Barbar in 1714. He was Gentleman Armourer to King George II in 1741 and was elected Master Gunmaker in 1742. he died in 177s.
