222 Sports Memorabilia 545 Horse Racing. 1931. Large silver Kenya Police Cup, won by a rider from Carlow. ‘Won by W & G Alexanders “Tim” ridden by G. Alexander. 15 by 11 by 7in. (38.1 by 27.9 by 17.8cm) Condition: Very fine. William and George Alexander were born at Milford House, Carlow. Both joined the Kenya Regiment in 1926. George was a major by 1937. He became a very successful horse trainer, winning over 700 races including the Derby, St. Leger etc. He died in 1988 in Kenya.
