Notes and letters from Charles Murphy to IRA headquarters seeking payment for a uniform for Harry Boland in which to dress the body for his funeral. The money - £6.10s.0d - was eventually reimbursed to Murphy in 1924 Provenance: Archive of Charles Murphy (1880-1958, TD 1923-1927). Condition: Very good. Estimate €150-€200 (approx £130-£170) Click here for more images and to bid on this lot 196 197 1922 (June-December) Mountjoy prisoner’s autograph book including Rory O’Connor, Seán MacBride, Brian O’Higgins etc. The book belonged to Patrick Oxbery, Active Service Unit, 1st Battalion, Dublin Brigade. A total of 76 signed contributions of verse and prose. Page inscribed and signed by Rory O’Connor, dated 25 October 1922, 6 weeks before his execution. Items signed by Rory O’Connor in captivity are extremely rare. Accompanied by a useful typed transcription of the contents. 5 by 4.50in. (12.7 by 11.4cm) Provenance: Condition: Some of the pages were removed and torn in half, including those with O’Connor and MacBride signatures, otherwise very good. Will restore well.
