118 193 1921 A UNIQUE HISTORIC DOCUMENT: Articles of Agreement signed by Eamon de Valera, Austin Stack, Arthur Griffith and Michael Collins. Typescript copy signed in ink - Éamon de Valera, Agustín de Staic, Art Ó Griobta and Miceal Ó Coilean.. “In order to avoid a division of the Sinn Fein organisation.....” it was proposed to postpone the Ard Fheis, there be no parliamentary election held until the signatories of the ‘London Agreement’ draft a Consitution. This appears to be a political and historic document of immense importance; possibly a unique example of both Collins and de Valera formaly in agreement that they both signed. Accompanied by a contemporaneous photographic representation of the Treaty and a passport for Gerald McGann, Secretary to the President (W.T.Cosgrave) issued in 1925. It would appear that this document was kept secret from the Dáil. De Valera was to renege on this agreement and to oppose the Treaty. Condition: Folded, slight stains, overall very good.
