Designed by Guus Melai (1923-2000). 40 by 25in. (101.6 by 63.5cm) Condition: Very good. In 1953 Guus Melai, a Dutch national, was a graphic design expert working for KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines). He was brought to Ireland to help develop and promote the new National Airline, Aer Lingus, and the emerging tourist industry. His Aer Lingus summer timetable poster for 1955 is on the cover of the publication Modern Ireland in 100 Artworks published by the Irish Times.
