(62.2 by 77.5cm) Provenance: Whyte’s, 20 September 2005, lot 155; Private collection Stuart Morle was born in Liverpool and studied Fine Art at the Central School of Art and Design in London from 1979 to 1982. He won an Italian Government scholarship in 1982 and went to live in Siena that year. He established himself as a portrait painter and worked for both British and Italian clients including for the Princess Royal Anne for the 90th Anniversary of the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (Princess Royal’s Volunteer Corps) in 1992. He also focuses on still life and has been depicting the numerous places he travelled to, from Ireland to the Italian countryside and the remote villages of Portugal. €1,500-€2,000 (£1,300-£1,740 approx.)
