(92.7 by 69.2cm) Provenance: Artist’s estate; de Veres, 26 November 2002, lot 183; Private collection Born in Dublin, Caracciolo studied in Florence under Nera Simi. He established a practice painting landscapes of Italy and Ireland working in oil and tempera. In 1979 he had a solo show at the King Street Galleries in St James, London. He also exhibited in London at the RA Summer Exhibitions and at the Royal Portrait Society. He first exhibited in Dublin at the RHA in 1982 and in the same year at the Solomon Gallery, Dublin. In 1983 he was elected an Associate member of the RHA and in 1984 was elected a full member. He died in Italy in 1989. €2,000-€3,000 (£1,740-£2,610 approx.)
