(30.5 by 45.7cm) Frame Size: 17.25 by 23.25in. (43.8 by 59.1cm) Seán McSweeney was born in Dublin in 1935. He began exhibiting work in the early 60s and had his first solo exhibition in 1965 with the Dawson Gallery. Primarily dealing in landscape, particularly of the Sligo coast, McSweeney developed a self- taught sensuous style informed by painters like Patrick Collins and Jack Yeats. He had regular solo exhibitions with the Dawson and later Taylor galleries and exhibited abroad. McSweeney was a member of Aosdána. €2,000-€3,000 (£1,740-£2,610 approx.)
