Collection of 9 carat gold medals (11) including County Dublin 1918 Football (2) 1919 Football, 1924 Football, Leinster Football 1934, Football League 1918, Dublin Intermediate Hurling 1917 (3), Inter Provincial Challenge Cup 1933, and an untitled medal. Also bimetal medals: Football Minor Championship 1911 1909,1920, Sunday Hurling 1920. Nearly all inscribed to Saint Laurence O’Toole GAA club. An impressive haul of awards to a Dublin GAA legend. Condition: Very fine to extremely fine. Provenance: Family of the players. The Famous Brothers, Paddy and Johnny McDonnell fought together on Easter Monday at Jacob’s Garrison. Paddy McDonnell won 10 Dublin Senior Football Championships for the ‘Larriers’ - Laurence O’Toole GAA ,two Senior All Irelands with Dublin in 1922 and 1923 and represented Ireland in the Tailteann Games in 1924 and 1928. He also went on to become Chairman of the Dublin County Board and remained a lifelong trustee of his club until his death n 1977.
