Provenance: The “Mauser bolt action rifle, Spandau 1890” refers to the Gewehr 88 (G88), a significant German service rifle adopted in 1888, with examples made by the Spandau Arsenal in 1890, featuring a distinctive bolt action, five-round magazine, and initially using the M/88 cartridge before transitioning to the 7.92×57mm Mauser.
