(54.6 by 33cm) Frame Dimensions: 26 by 18.5in. (66 by 47cm) Anna Airy was an English painter best known for her powerful depictions of industrial and wartime scenes. Born in 1882 in England, she studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, where she became one of the first women to gain recognition in a field dominated by men. During WorldWar I, Airy was officially commissioned to paint factories, munitions workers, and war production scenes. Her vivid use of color and dramatic lighting captured the intensity of industrial labor and the impact of war on society.
